I previously mentioned I was moving house. Well all the moving is over and done with, thank goodness! I forgot how much work moving really is! Now finally I can relax and get back into the daily routine :) Also I just love my new home and can't wait to decorate it with a few more artworks and photographs.

First Market Stall

This coming Friday night I am holding my very first market stall. I have already done a mock setup of my stall to prepare and it looks great! So I am looking forward to Friday! The market is held by a local Brisbane craft group I joined called BrisStyle. They hold different markets, craft demonstrations, developments sessions and more throughout the Brisbane Area and are a great way to get involved with your local community.

If you are in the Brisbane Area, please come and check out the BrisStyle Indie Twilight Markets on Friday the 25th of May. They are located at King George Square in Brisbane City and run from 5pm until 9pm. You will find many beautiful wares made by local Brisbane Crafters. Come and support your community!

See above for upcoming 2012 BrisStyle markets. See you there :)

Blog Feature: Over the Fence Art

I would like to introduce this weeks blog feature Amy Wright from Over the Fence Art. Amy makes original handmade art and fine photograph greeting cards with a light hearted nature and animal theme. She started her Etsy shop in November 2010 - http://www.etsy.com/shop/overthefenceart In the near future Amy will be branching out into  selling larger matted photographic prints and pendants/necklaces which will also feature her art and photography.

When Amy isn't creating she enjoys riding my horses, running with my labrador, gardening, cooking new vegan recipes, updating my farm house and of course taking more photographs! She is the mother of two teens, and in her words "they are becoming amazing adults and I am proud to be their mother. They bring so much joy and love to my life."

During her daily life Amy looks up to her parents, brothers, children and dear friends as her most treasured role models. "I am grateful for their guidance and support every day" she says. She lives her life by the inspiring motto, "Have the heart to follow your heart and intuition". As well as Steve Jobs words "They somehow already know what you truly want to become".

If you are new to Etsy or selling your artwork online, Amy has some great advice to help. She recommends that first of all you need to do research. Research prices,(Shipping and merchandise), tags, treasuries, chats on Etsy and take advantage of the free advice on the live Etsy live feeds and Etsy help sites. Join and get involved with teams that have the same items for sale in their shops. They are a great source for advice and inspiration. There are a lot of discussions within the individual teams that can help answer many of your questions.

Thank you so much Amy! Your artwork and photographs are beautiful!

Hot Yoga

Over the past two years I have been religiously practicing yoga. I originally started to help my back pain which was caused from sitting in front of a computer all day. About two weeks ago I discovered Hot Yoga (Bikram Yoga) and it is amazing! Hot or Bikram Yoga is a class of 26 yoga poses practiced in a heated room around 30 to 37 degrees.

My first week of classes was extremely difficult, the heat just seemed to drain all energy out of my body and was have never sweated so much! But slowly I am getting used to the humid heat, and after every class I have felt fantastic!

I am more energised, feel fitter, healthier and more flexible. The great thing about Hot Yoga is most classes are suitable for a range of skill levels from beginners to advanced, so anyone is capable of trying it. I hope yoga can do the same for you as it has for me! Namaste.
