Blog Feature: Idestudiet

I would like to welcome my very first blog feature handmade artist Pia Barksdale from Idestudiet. I found Pia's amazing art via her Etsy shop http://www.etsy.com/shop/idestudiet

Pia designs and makes sculptures, greeting cards, typographical paintings/collages and writes. Being creative is a natural part of who she is, which is why she have chose her business name Idestudiet, by using the two words idea and studio. Her wire sculptures take most of her time and she really enjoys making them. Her inspiration comes from nature and it's also important to her that her art is eco-friendly so she mainly uses recycled materials. Reclaimed wire looks absolutely beautiful!

'Life Isn't About Waiting for the Storm' http://www.etsy.com
When Pia isn't creating and designing she spends her time going to art shows, reading, travelling or simply enjoying living by the ocean. She lives her life by this lovely meaningful quote "Live simply, embrace diversity, laugh often and love deeply."

I asked Pia what her advice would be to others artists or crafters just starting out:

"My advice is to keep at it if you really love what you are doing. I believe that when an artist puts their heart and soul into their art it will be beautiful and eventually someone will see that and buy it. Also, remember – not everyone will love your particular stile and that's ok too. Art has to do with feelings so stick to what makes you feel great and the rest will follow with hard work."

To see more of Pia's beautiful wire sculptures and artworks visit her website http://www.idestudiet.dk/
And you can follow her on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/Idestudiet

Thanks Pia! I am proud to be able to share your amazing artwork :)

  1. What great advice about just doing what you love! I've been feeling like I'm in a bit of a slump lately, and that was just what I needed to hear. Like a virtual kick in the pants!
